Located on the 34th Avenue and Clement Street is the California Palace of the Legion of Honor. It is such an art experience that you wouldn’t want to miss. The building which was built in 1924 is built to honor the 3,600 Californians lost their lives on France battlefield during the first world war.
The Alcatraz is an island miles of the San Francisco coast. In 1907, it had been used as military prison which became a Federal prison in 1930’s when it houses the most hardened criminals including the most famous prisoners George Kelly, aka “Machine Gun Kelly”, a kidnapper and robber.
The Chinatown is also located here which is the home of the large Asian population outside china. It is located near North Beach. You will find great food and shopping here including the Mee Mee Bakery, a reputed bakery believed to be the originator of the famous “Fortune Cookie”.
The Golden Gate Park is where you can easily spend your whole day. It is a great place to walk, sit and enjoy. There are many things to explore there such as the Strybing Arboretum, Stow Lake, Spreckels Lake and Bison Paddock.
If you are a serious shopper, you need to head to Union Square. It is a short walk from the many most commonly used hotels. There are many buses running in the area and there are also Bart and muni exit at the market street.
